Shaping up as one of the most popular of recent release SUVs is Isuzu’s MU-X. And now we are ready to tell the world it is the latest vehicle to receive the Kaymar rear bar and carrier treatment.
As it is presented from the factory the MU-X has a full size spare wheel mounted underneath the rear floor space. With the addition of the Kaymar rear bar and carriers, multiple spare wheels can be carried or a combination of wheels and jerry can holder (for single jerry only).
In earlier times the SUV was viewed as a glorified ‘people mover’ and rarely left its urban habitat - things have changed!
Improved capability has seen the SUV strike out into all parts of the country and drivers are keen to add all the usual travel accessories to enhance the long haul and off road adventures on their ‘to do’ list.
In typical style the team at Kaymar have been hard at it behind the scenes designing, prototyping and testing a suitable rear end kit that would achieve the essential criteria - aethetics, practicality, reliability and longevity. And notably add to the vehicle performance off-road without impacting on the five star safety rating.
Good old tough steel plate makes up the ‘spine’ of the system - the rear bar - upon which all the other accessories depend. It features solidly engineered multi-point mounting to the vehicle chassis, heavy duty carrier pivots, LED lights a super reliable carrier locking and superb overall finish.
Components are accurately cut by laser, shaped and crafted to specifically suit the MU-X, expertly assembled and robotically welded before being individually hand finished, electroplated with a protective zinc coating and finally receiving a satin black powder coat dressing.
The carrier arms are specifically tailored to the MU-X and feature gas strut assistance, Kaymar’s renown overcentre lock and securing lock plates.
Where desired a vehicle colour coded finish can be arranged matching the body colour, greatly enhancing the overall aesthetics. Fitment of the bar requires mounting the Kaymar reversing sensor kit.
The Kaymar reversing sensor solution replaces the factory installed sensor system in all models in order to meet the changed operating enviroment of a steel mounting platform.
The integral towbar is rated to meet the vehicle’s 3,000/300 Kg tow/ball weight rating. Warranty for 12 months stands by the confidence built in to Kaymar products.
